Hi I’m Andrea but most people know me as Andie. My mantra is to live a passionately creative life!

I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and grew up in the Caribbean port town of  Puerto Limon. We grew up with a rich Jamaican culture full of music, and amazing soul food.  We shared our backyard with exotic animals such as sloths, sea turtles, and monkeys. We often traveled to my grandma’s house in the mountains of Tres Rios a region better known for it’s beautiful coffee growing climate.  When I was six years old our family relocated to New Jersey which believe it or not, is a pretty darn cool state!

Education

I majored in textile surface design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City

Art and Photography

Between 1997-2009 I was a studio artist exhibiting work throughout galleries in the United States, Central America, and Europe. My breakthrough exhibit was held at Cpop Gallery in Detroit. My work has been shown alongside artists such as Shephard Fairey, and Derek Hess.

After 2009 I took some time off from art to pursue my second passion, music and journalism. I served as managing editor and concert photographer/interviewer for international music magazine Rock at Night (4yrs.), and eventually branched off on my own doing freelance work for various major music labels.

I freelance as a runway photographer in New York and London Fashion Week working with designers, and publications to help bring the magic of the runway to life on print and online. Currently I am a self taught silversmith designing my own jewelry.

Rosaries and Jewelry Design

My father was a craftsman in every sense of the word and had a treasure trove of jewelry making supplies. After he passed away from Pulmonary Fibrosis, I inherited his jewelry making supplies and began to make handmade Rosaries in his honor.

I truly appreciate you reading this far! Thank you for stopping by and Pura Vida!
